Welcome! I'm new, too. JW Facts was a huge eye-opener for me. He needs a donate button"). The Candace Conti case really made me start questioning if I could keep being a part of an organization, that while it wasn't personally harming me, was causing other so much pain. Carpe Diem!
okay so for a while now i have been developing an idea to help expose the truth to certain jw friends without forsaking my identity.
the idea involves sending an anonymous email to someone with an attachment.
to do this you may need set-up a new email account (if necessary) without any traces of your real name or location during sign up.
I like this idea! I was also thinking how I could utilize my Facebook, while I'm still in. I have a decent amount of JW's on there from different states. I have many pictures showing good times and events that I go to. They have no idea I'm fading, so I thought I could use the next few months wisely and post provocative questions or legitimate news articles with catchy tag lines.
If I can help email people for you, let me know. I go to the library regularly and could use a computer there.
any suggestions to bring a end to the attacks on us who have.
left the borg and continuing efforts to alienate our love one still.
in the borg.. how about this, we all send letters to hq, flood the mail room with.
Personally, I was thinking of printing out standard Avery address labels, with something like:
"Always get a second opinion"
(Maybe Mr. Grundy already thought of this)
If you are still in, you could discreetly place them in/on the literature and return it. I wish I had thought of this last week when I returned two new Bible Teach books I knew I wouldn't be placing.
Also, lately I have noticed a lot of magazines at libraries and coffee shops. Why not pretend to be checking them out and add your sticker? ") Don't forget the laundromats!

Is it better to start a new thread to address fading reasons/issues and the large group I know that left?

@jgnat, thank you for adding that lovely video ")
I appreciate the warm welcome from all of you and hope I can be useful to the site. I live in Florida, so if anyone would like to meet up, please pm me. My friends are pretty scattered across the US and so is my family, which is part of the reason it has been easier to fade. We haven't turned in time since last fall and we don't seem to be missed which is a little disconcerting, but I am in a transient hall. Still, the lack of love makes you a little miffed, but being as we are females and not pioneering, there doesn't seem to much follow-up on us.

Doc, I'm not sure of all the reasons why they left just yet, as I was busy shunning them.
I'm connecting with that group now through facebook. In addition, I've contacted all childhood friends that I lost touch with when my family moved, pre-Facebook, cell phone day's back when i was a teen in the 90's. So far, not a one of that group is still in. That means spouses and their children, too. That was pretty eye-opening for me.
For now, I ask everyone I'm close to that is in, what they think of the Conti case??? Let them wonder and search like I did.
Carpe Diem!
Thank you so much everyone!
Mouthy, I've read quite a few of your posts and tear up, thinking about what you have gone through with your family. How foolish they are to not appreciate and treasure you. Sending you a big hug.
I really feel for all of you that are currently stuck inside or are being shunned by family and friends. I'm sometimes torn with how fast to fade as I think I can help others to turn their brain back on. I'm fortunate as my best friend went inactive, too. (No place for educated, successful, traveling women in this organization). So, I can and have forwarded her the most poignant pieces of information I find. She has been a huge support to me.
Gayle, there was a time where it would have torn us apart, if she had not accepted that way of life. I'm glad I woke up in time to not hurt her that way. Not so sure how my parents will handle it. I was 4th generation.
My fade is easier because I don't have family close by and through work and volunteer activities I've built a solid base of friends that really care about us. I always entertained Jw's at my home and loved getting groups together for fun events. There is a void there, but I don't believe in wallowing. From our group of about 25 jw friends that we regularly associated with, 22 have left in the past two years.
Collectively, all of you are just the sweetest, most charming group of people I've never met ")

Hi,
Hope everyone is having a lovely day. I ended up here after spending the past few months researching JW, without the blinders on. I was a born-in, baptized as a teen, pioneered out of high school for a couple years (turning down a 4 year scholarship). Even though I'm now doing a pretty fast, easy fade I'm leery to post too many details about myself just yet. I'm a single parent with a teen that was already losing interest in JW world. While we became inactive last winter, we've yet to hear from the elders. Oh, except once about our time. Lol
Basically, last fall a lot of witnesses were posting on Facebook the initial news about the murder of Whitney Heinchel in Oregon. As I read the details in news reports, someone mentioned a 28 million lawsuit over child abuse that the WT lost. Shocked and thinking it couldn't be true, I started researching.
Jw facts and Cedars blog were enlightening and I lurked here for a couple months before accepting that there is no going back to the old me. I have moments where I worry about all that I've read and wasn't supposed to read (Brianna Karp, Joy Castro, Brenda Lee, James Kostelniuk). Yet, life goes on")
